Definition:  (adj) extremely bad

Usage Example:  After cheating on the test, Sue was told that further egregious violations would result in expulsion.

Usage Notes:  often used to describe mistakes – “an egregious error.”

Etymology:  ex = out of + grebe = herd or flock – “rising out of the flock.”
